Welcome to the Togetherness Project, a radio show on Voice FM 99.9 on your dial (as they say).
We are facing severe crises in Australia and globally. To name a few:
- Runaway climate change.
- Energy/fuel insecurity.
- Host of living.
- Political instability.
- Civil Society disintegrating
- Wars and conflicts.
- Food and material shortages.
- Pollution and waste.
- Extinctions.
- Technology taking over.
So we’ll use the model of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – just to give a theme and context to our discussions. The horsemen?:1

Famine
In archaeologicial times, this was the feared destroyer of civilisation. These days 30% of the world live in hunger while the rich countries throw away more food per person than the30% eat in a year.

Plague
We are talking pandemic here. COVID, Ebola and other emerging diseases that we don’t have a ready defence against.

War
War has broken out across Europe, Asia and South/Central America. It is sometimes disguised as “local conflict” but people are killed and for political reasons

State Collapse
Where did the Maya, Anasazi, Inca and so many Mesopotamian civilisations go? What about today’s dominant cultures?
This is a programme that values evidence based analysis. You will see evidence for what we present.2. Episode summaries are at the bottom of the page.
We will follow these things over many weeks. Each programme will have a go at a clear statement of the issue in context. We look beyond the problem We will always look at options we have to make it better Together!3
And it turns out that it is by working together that we can solve the most wicked problems. Think globally. Act locally, act together. That’s the pattern of how we solve these problems. So why the Togetherness project? Quite simply, the success of life on Earth has been driven by collaboration. Symbiotic. Cooperation. Common mutual benefits. Humans have dominated all ecological niches possible. By taking cooperation to greater heights. We can use that to solve the biggest problems. Even ones we created ourselves.
